Evie & Eddie @ Cape of Good Hope
Ps 133:1 1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (NKJ) The last two nights have been precious!
Wednesday night we were blessed with a wonderful attendance of believers from several assemblers as we met at Grassy Park Gospel Hall. I had forgotten how good Africans sound when they sing! The welcome was warm and there were several saints who I recalled from previous visits. Having Evie here was wonderful… some even joked “Well Eddie is really married!” I encourage all to remember that couples are, or should be, one in ministry. Even when Evie is not with me when I travel, I depend on and feel her presence in prayer and support. Her warmth and presence is surely a plus on this winter visit! Ministry was on “Unity in the Body” based on the Lord’s prayer in John 17. The message was a blessing to all including myself.
Thursday evening I shared on CCFM radio. The programme was hosted by Francois Daniel and an invitation was extended to the wide audience to the subsequent meetings. The invitation bore fruit. Later that night I ministered at Athlone Gospel Hall. The message was on “Dealing with Temptation” based on 1 Cor 10:11-14. 11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. (NKJ) I pray that the comments from the audience may have reality in their lives. We had a tour of Cape Town by night… I would repeat that apart from Bermuda, of course, there aren’t manyplaces as lovely as the Cape…

Gerald and Ursula Maasdorp are more like family. The relationship has developed over the years and both our families have been hosting each other on occasions. They have made it so easy to bear the cold on this visit as they have warm hearts. Their children and extended family have embraced us and move any impediment to our having a great visit to their country.

Our host took us to the Dudley’s who invited us to dinner. All of the family were there. The obvious patriarch, Claude was there with his wife, their children and their spouses and all the grand children. Food was plentiful and we had a great time singing and sharing. Oh, the snook! that’s a fish that is plentiful in the Cape. It is caught in the Indian Ocean and is said to be one of the Cape’s most tasty (I do endorse that). So when I mentioned that in passing while ministering, they decided to include a huge baked one on the menu for the nignt. The “fatted snook” soon disappeared!!!
